With organisations honing in on information security and their compliance efforts with data privacy regulations, Canon UK & Ireland, leaders in digital imaging solutions, debuts its third generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE 3rd edition platform.
Building upon the success and reliability of its predecessors, the new lineup features Security Information Event Management (SIEM) integration and other cyber-security feature enhancements that allow for efficient activity monitoring and threat detection that extend beyond traditional MFD security features designed to help prevent unauthorised access to organisational assets.
The solutions expand Canon’s existing focus on reliability and workflow efficiency.
As information management continues to move to digital channels, we wanted to offer our users more control of both processes and costs than ever before. The 3rd edition of our third generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform saves time and resource, whilst enabling proactive management and continual optimisation of print infrastructure.

Cutting edge security
“Addressing the requirement for a strong suite of secure solutions, we’ve introduced a range of preventative measures to help both our Partners and customers get ahead of security vulnerabilities. This includes verification of system at start up that allows users to safely open programmes based on Root of Trust (ROT) and stops hackers from being able to side-step the security mechanisms of MFPs.“
With data protection an increasingly urgent priority for customers, organisations can capitalise on the 3rd edition imageRUNNER ADVANCE functions, such as Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Encryption with FIPS140-2 validation to automatically encrypt data. Other benefits include new Syslog data, which provides real-time security information about the device when integrated with a 3rd Party SIEM solution. This enables actual and potential security threats to be handled and managed swiftly, and with minimum administration requirements.
Digital certifications automatically enable the encryption of data, and verification of any documents created by the devices. Partners also gain time savings thanks to autonomous security certificate updates, which are available through enrolment with either Simple Certificate Enrolment Protocol (SCEP) or Network Device Enrolment Service (NDES).
In the coming months, Canon plans to offer further development in the information security market landscape by continuing to enhance its product integration in areas such as runtime detection to further protect against intrusion.
Document management builds business success
Offering greater end-to-end management of print and document processes, organisations can drive cost efficiency while delivering a seamless document management workflow.
