With a lot of change ongoing in the legal environment, there is a movement towards agile working, enabling staff to work where they want, when they want and how they want.

Wedlake Bell were keen to implement more flexible, agile workflows into their day to day activities, as well as get on top of inefficient and wasteful printing behaviours.

Previously, each of Wedlake Bell’s lawyers had their own personal printers in each room, meaning a sizeable support overhead to maintain the machines.

Keen to introduce solutions that allowed the firm to work more effectively, we consulted with various team members at Wedlake Bell to understand the firm’s needs and the best ways to go about achieving a paperless (or paperlite) office.

Reviewing their printing fleet, we removed all the personal printers and brought in a number of MFDs, which brought with them a wide range of scanning, copying, printing and document management benefits, including the ability to scan and digitise incoming paper mail, as well as enable more flexible and secure working practices.

Since rolling out the solution, Wedlake Bell have noticed a significant reduction in paper usage, a reduction in colour printing across the business, and considerable improvements in cost saving. In addition, their new systems have now enabled them to introduce agile working practices that cater to everyone’s needs and ways of working, helping them build a truly modern, forward looking office.
